Banana-Strawberry Smoothie
If you’re looking for a nourishing yet uber delicious smoothie that would jump-start your day, this banana-strawberry smoothie is for you. It is so simple to create and it is also low in fat and low in calories. The perfect start for your day!
1 bag of frozen strawberries
1/2 pint plain yogurt
1 banana
6 – 8 cubes of ice
Empty the contents of the bag of frozen strawberries onto the blender. Peel banana; add to the blender as well. Add yogurt and ice cubes. Turn on blender; mix ingredients on medium until well combined and soft. Pour in cup and taste the pleasure. Serves about 4 cups
Orange Zesty Smoothie
A terrific substitute drink for orange lovers. This tasty slushy drink is the fun, fun way to cool off!
1 (6 ounce) can of frozen orange juice concentrate
A tsp of vanilla
1 c of non-fat milk
1 c – water
1/3 c white sugar
10 cubes of ice
Turn on blender, mix concentrate, milk, water, vanilla, ice and sugar. Blend till smooth. Pour into glasses and serve. Serves 4 people
Peachy Yum Smoothie
2 peaches, ripe and thawed
2 c of low-fat unflavored yogurt
4 tbsps sugar (brown)
A dash of ground cinnamon
10 cubes of ice
Using a small pot, boil around a quart of tap water. Immerse peaches in boiling hot water, waiting 15 counts before taking it out of the way of fire. Drain water. Transfer to the blender. Put the rest of the ingredients into your blender, except for the cubes of ice. Make sure it is blended smoothly. Add ice and mix again until well-combined.
Choco-Banana Smoothie
The blend of chocolate with banana is classic, so why not put it in smoothie form? This smoothie is easy, healthy and tasty. It’s great for breakfast or a snack. Soymilk provides protein, calcium and vitamins. Quality chocolate is packed with antioxidants. Bananas are rich in protein, potassium and many other vitamins. They also help boost metabolism.Yield about 24 ounces.
10 cubes of ice
2 pcs ripe bananas
1 tbsps cocoa powder or 2 tablespoons choco syrup
1/2 c soy milk, milk or yogurt (plain)
2 tbsp honey (only if unsweetened cocoa was used)
Crush ice in an electric blender. You should have 1 1/2 cups when crushed. Add remaining ingredients, slicing bananas into smaller pieces. Mix on low – medium speed for around 30 seconds. Increase speed to high for an additional 30-45 seconds to liquefy.
Make this a dessert by using vanilla ice cream, topped with whipped cream and chocolate chips–definitely not health food now, though.
