How To Make Delicious Smoothies Out Of Frozen Fruits

How To Make Delicious Smoothies Out Of Frozen Fruits

Smoothies using frozen fruits come in different kinds. They also vary in ingredients, texture & taste. An important note to always keep in mind is keeping your smoothies as nutritious and healthy as they can be by following these really simple and easy guidelines.

Basic Elements in Creating Frozen-Fruit Smoothies

Essentially everything has to start with the basics even for smoothies but as one is going along and building up the smoothie you have the ability to change its taste.

The very basic would be adding in the fruits. Choosing fresh fruits would be the most ideal since they possess greater amounts of vitamins, raw food-enzymes and minerals. Raw food-enzymes are found only inside raw foodstuffs since heat would destroy any living enzyme.

These are components that are very essential in any meal plan especially when wanting to consume a healthier dietary regimen in order to maintain a body that functions correctly. But of course fruits that are found inside your freezer would still work if they’re the only ingredients available.

Pineapple, pears, nectarines, apples, peaches, all kinds of berries and bananas are ideal fruits for you to make use of especially when creating these kinds of smoothies. Mangoes and kiwis would also be great choices but of course this would greatly depend on where you’re located and what kinds of fruits are easily accessible.

Smoothies Require Liquid

Liquid would always be needed in creating any kind of tasty smoothie; this is usually added with the rest of the ingredients either using blenders or smoothie makers. The amount and type of liquids would also determine its thickness.

Liquids which are regularly used includes soy-milk, rice-milk, fruit juices, milk or skim milk is also great and would allow a reduced quantity of calories and fat in your dietary regimen as well as also create a varied flavor in your drinks.

If using fruit juices, make sure to always use those that are unsweetened as you don’t want a juice that’s high in fructose or sugar and this is commonly the case with fruit juices so better get your fruit juices unsweetened.

Smoothies Requires Thickeners

The thickeners that are usually used would include any small-sized can of frozen juice concentrates (check label to see its sugar and sweetener contents), one cup of ice, frozen fruits, low fat yogurt. Incorporating a higher quantity of thickeners would also mean a thicker kind of smoothie.

An essential ingredient in creating frozen-fruit smoothies are based on the ratio and proportion of the ingredients like two-parts thickener, one-part liquid, one-part fruit. Feel free to select and pick any kind of combination basing on these equations as well as experiment making different smoothies.

Include more parts of thickener or liquid when needed or when you have reached your desired kind of consistency. Explore in choosing different ingredients. Nothing really goes wrong.

When sweeteners are needed always keep in mind you could use honey or crystalline-fructose since they’re more natural and could easily be digested, fruits could even be good enough in satiating any person’s sweet-tooth.

Serve your smoothies right away since they taste better right after they’re being mixed. Refrigerating your drink is actually possible although the texture and flavor would also suffer.

Frozen-fruit smoothies are considered as a really healthy and nutritious breakfast alternative as well as a great snack.

When wanting to check the amount of calories your smoothies contain, it’s actually very easy to find out if you have lots of patience. The difficult portion of the process is checking out the amount of calories inside the veggies and fruits as well as the rest of the unlabeled food stuff.

STEP 1 – Check the amount of calories found inside the different foods that you’re putting inside your blender.

One example would be when a smoothie recipe requires yogurt as its ingredients, check how much calories could be found inside one cup of yogurt. This can be easy since the calories have always been indicated on their label.

Always check its serving size; because a lot of people commit the common mistake, they think that one container is really the same as the serving size indicated when in fact it isn’t.

But when blending greens, vegetables, raspberries, grapes, bananas, apples and etc. there wouldn’t be any label for you to check on so you really can’t determine the appropriate number of calories found inside the fruit or vegetable. So what to do? Move on to the next step.

STEP 2 – Research and check the number of calories found in vegetables & fruits.

That’s what’s so great in the World Wide Web. All you need to do is use any search engine such as Google then type in amount of calories found in veggies and fruits and there would be a wide variety of different websites for you to pick from.

Be extra diligent in the searches and for sure you’d find what you’re looking for. There might be a table guide also available so you can print this out too and paste it inside the kitchen so you’ll have a guide for anytime that you’d want a smoothie drink.

WARNING: When checking varying websites some numbers would appear to differ, no need to fret because the largest difference in amounts would be just ten calories or even just five calories.

When wanting an increase with your caloric consumption then opt to eat the fruit/vegetable that has a lower amount of calories and when wanting to lower on your calorie consumption then choose foods that have lower caloric amounts, that way you don’t miss out on anything.

Step 3 – Add all the calories together

Simply add all the calories together and you would get the number of calories found inside your healthy smoothie drink. Take note of all your ingredients

Smoothies are essentially a mixture of different solid foods like vegetables or fruits, mixed with different kinds of liquids like yogurt, juices perhaps even milk. Various combinations may be mixed altogether to acquire various consistencies and tastes. This would mean that you may make any kind of meal inside a drink that would also tailor to your own personal taste.
Recipes would also serve as one helpful guideline in experimenting in the concoction of your very own smoothie blend.

What are the basic ingredients in creating a regular kind of recipe for smoothies?

Creating smoothies are a lot easier in contrast to making other kinds of meal, since you could easily change its taste as well as how you would prefer to put certain ingredients in the drink. Although some important tips exist in helping you acquire a better tasting smoothie and save money too.

Recipe for a Banana-Strawberry Smoothie

1 pc banana (ripe)
Strawberries
Milk (low-fat)

Add all ingredients inside your smoothie-maker or blender then blend all ingredients till you reach a texture that possess a really smooth consistency, pour inside a tall glass. Enjoy the drink! In order to acquire better smoothie results prefer to use some chopped frozen pieces of strawberries then pair them with really ripe bananas.

Bananas that are colored green won’t taste much like the regular yellow-colored banana so allow them to turn brown. A good idea would be buying them at a cheaper price in your local supermarket since they’ve turned brown. That way you’d save money.

This drink creates a good source of a low-fat meal; this drink would certainly keep you feeling full and satisfied for the rest of the day, and because of its natural sugar content the drink becomes a source to make digestion easier. When wishing to keep a filled stomach longer, simply add in protein powders and oats.

Fruits that are sold fresh may be somewhat pricey. Feel free to utilize frozen fruits or canned fruits, since freezing would still preserve and lock in remaining nutrients within most vegetables and fruits. Canned peaches and pears may be used as well to create a chunky smoothie.

When purchasing blackberries, raspberries, blueberries and strawberries it’s better to purchase them frozen so that it would last even longer without necessarily losing any vital vitamins. Frozen fruits also allow its natural flavors to come out when created into a smoothie drink.

When having a knack for gardening or possessing that wonderful green thumb, feel free to produce your own kinds of fruits & vegetables by planting them inside a garden, this would truly help you save more money in the process. Strawberries would actually be very simple to plant and nurture plus they could grow all throughout the year.

When buying canned fruits always ensure that they’re canned inside their own natural fruit juices instead of a heavy syrup. Always wash your fresh fruits well because they still might have traces of pesticides or to be really safe, opt to buy those organic fruits instead of the regular ones.
